Anderson is Potty Trained!!!
It is now August 4th and our son (who is almost 26 months) is potty trained!!! Kennedy was 2 1\2, Jonathan and Sonny were around 3. This is amazing and so exciting! The boy is definitely the MVP of the family right now. I think little Andy must be feeling the pressure of a new baby coming into our lives in a matter of weeks. He's doing it all...wearing the big boy underwear, staying dry all night, and hasn't had an accident in days! It's a miracle!! He is so independant, so it makes sense that he would decide to train himself!

When are we going to Coco Keys Water Park?
This is the question I get to hear EVERYDAY, sometimes five times a day! We have finally set a date for next week, but next week can't get here fast enough. I already know that as soon as we leave Coco Keys Sonny will have his little heart set on something new. So until we get there I guess we'll have to hear "When are we going to.....insert Sonny's fantasy place here?"

A poem written from my mom

I just wanted to share this poem that my mother wrote when she was young. I find it so amazing that she wrote this having no idea that she would leave four children motherless, even her own mother was living. It almost feels like a foreshadowing of her death and that the poem was left here for her kids. I miss her so much, and every time I have another child I miss her more. I wonder what kind of grandmother she would be. Would she be in the delivery room? Would she stay at my house for days and help me cook and clean, like so many other grandmas do after their daughter has a baby? Would she have all the answers to the millions of parenting questions I have or give the unwanted advice I didn't want? Did she carry her pregnancies the same way do? So many questions....I hope if you're lucky enough to have your parents living you don't take it for granted. Parents are a glorious gift to their children and grandchildren.
MOTHER
Written by Melody Howard
Mother is everything in this life.
She is consolation in time of sorrowing and hope in the time of grieving, and power in the moments of weakness.
She is the fountain head of compassion, forbearance and forgiveness.
He who loses his mother loses a bosom upon which he can lay his head, the hand that blesses, and eyes which watch over him.

First Words
Our little Anderson is not quite talking yet at 21 month's, but he sure is trying! He says mama, dada, hi, bye bye (beautifully by the way), day (stay) pup (cup), pretty sure he said "I did it", but today we were at the deli counter at Walmart and usually when I have the older kids someone will ask for a sample of cheese. Well, no older kids today and Anderson kept saying "chs, chs, CHEESE!" and you know what he was heard. The deli lady looked at him and said "Would you like some cheese?" I had to laugh! How adorable, he worked and worked until he got that word out and was heard! It paid off!
Marriage Material
Out of no where Jonathan says "I don't want to be single".
"Umm, okay Jonathan what do you mean?"
Almost in tears he says " I don't want to be lonely, I want to get married and have a wife forever. Kennedy said she doesn't ever want to get married. She's going to be lonely."
"Well, I am SURE you will get married one day Jonathan, and don't worry about Kennedy, I have a feeling she will change her mind."

"You think Kennedy will get married?"
"Yes."
"Okay..." and he was off to do something else!
By the way this picture is of Jonathan reading The Bible. I often find him doing this. So cute. He is definitely our most religious child.

Sunny Day
"Hi Sonny! How was school today? Did you do anything special for St. Patrick's Day?""But, Mrs. Shonk says today it's Sonny's Day!" (They do the weather everyday at school)
I say "Oh, so you think it's not St. Patrick's Day, you think it's you're day because it's sunny?"
Giving a shrug he says "Well.......my name IS Sonny!"
